Spirits were definitely on an all-time high when FHA2008 concluded on 25 April 2008 at the Singapore Expo. For the first time, FHA occupied seven halls (a total of 75,000 square metres) showcasing the largest number of exhibiting companies since its debut in 1978.

The biennial event saw an overwhelming 53,137 (41% overseas) trade attendees from the food and hospitality industry come together, reflecting the industry’s continual confidence in Asia’s LARGEST INTERNATIONAL trade event.

The 4-day event in April 2008 welcomed

• 36,956 global trade visitors from more than 90 countries / regions
• 2,626 exhibiting companies from 70 countries / regions
• 33 group pavilions
• 173 international members of the press
• 816 conference speakers and delegates

Trade visitors gave the thumbs-up to the internationality of the exhibitors and extensiveness of the exhibit range they saw at FHA2008.

Exhibitors likewise, were pleased with the quality of visitors. Valuable contacts were established, negotiations were initiated and business deals were closed within a short span of the 4 days at FHA2008. Many exhibitors have shared that they are in current talks with interested buyers and are hopeful that more contracts are to be confirmed in the next few months.

Providing a skills-sharing platform bringing together the ‘cream of the crop’ in each trade, competitions such as FHA2008 Culinary Challenge, Imperial Challenge, Asian Pastry Cup 2008, Wine&SpiritsAsia Challenge 2008 and the inaugural Asia Barista Championship added to the vibrancy on the show floor.
